i am a 44 year old vet. i have been watching war films since i was a child. I started out watching Combat on tv, and John Wayne films and ofcourse Audie murphy.
I have seen many war films both foriegn and domestic. i have a large collection of films on video and all 5 seasons of combat.
Because of my interest in war films i joined the army and served both in the US and overseas in peace and war. i was an airborne infantryman. my two favorite units i served with are the 2nd Infantry Division in which i was a member of bco 1st Bn 38th Infantry and awared the imjin scout badge hence my screen name. and with the c 2/502nd inf of the 101st Abn div Air assault. where i was awarded the Combat infantrymans badge. my greatest honor.

Re: imjin138
Hi and welcome to the forum. It's great to have an old "Indianhead" from the 38th here. And you were a Deuce too?, that's too pretty impressive units to be part of.
As I am a tour guide in Normandy, I visit the 2nd ID memorial on Omaha several times a week, and I often go to DZ A where the 502nd created merry hell on D-Day.
Welcome

Re: imjin138
when i was stationed in Berlin, the wife and I took a week and went to Normandy, after the trip i wish i had taken two or three weeks. there is so much history there.
i was awed by the U. S. cemetary there, and the friednliness of the Norman people. We went to the Airborne museum at Ste. Marie Eglise. and Point Du hoc. I respect those men that hit the beaches there. They had a tough job and did it.
